About
After having worked on the applied side of science for ca. 7 years (pest control - more particularly on control of termites from timber structures), I have switched to a fundamental research field in 2008, and since then my research has focused on rare colonisations events and their evolutionary and ecological consequences (using the fungus-growing termites and their symbiont as study system).
Currently, I am primarily interested in understanding the evolution of interactions between organisms, with particular emphasis on symbiosis - interspecific associations that are either beneficial (mutualistic) or antagonistic (parasitic). My ongoing research focus on functional aspects of symbiosis.
